So…. next email I’m going to hit you with some youth sports controversy, #FUN (it shouldn’t be controversial, buuut) Antyways… today I want to show you something that I hope will help you and your youngster. The internet is a gift!!!!
Take a look at the belief that happens behind his eyes! UH—MAZING!
Amon-Ra was 8 when his dad told him that he was going to the NFL. At 8 his dad (Mr. John Brown) told him in this video that he is going to go to be a pro. He told him and his brother that was their path. He told them that they were going to make it. The belief in that child’s eyes is heart warming and priceless.

Both he and his brother made it to the NFL!
What can we gain from this?
Part 1: His dad speaks to him in possibilities and opportunities. He also speaks to his son like it’s already done. He is Delulu. Clearly it works. Yet people will say…
“If your goal for your child is to be a pro at 8 there’s something wrong with you.” – Well… according to the video John Brown didn’t think so. Also, Richard Williams and Oracene Price didn’t think so, Earl and Kultida Woods didn’t think so, Lavar and Tina Ball didn’t think so, Corey and Candy Gauff didn’t think so, and Jos Verstappen didn’t think so. Soooooo…. 🤷🏿♂️
To the parent who might be hearing those words out there in the youth sportsaverse and who might be thinking there’s something wrong with you. DON’T!
We’re just different. We are not all on the same path and that’s ok. As one of my favorite rappers says….

Grass is great and trees are great! Their just not on the same path.
Part 2: Believe, Be Honest, Be Bold, Speak In “Already Dones”, and Get 1% better every day. Make the goal whatever you and your young athlete want it to be and go get it!
Part 3: Know that YOU my friend are making the correct choice in whatever you chose. This is coming from someone who should’ve listened to “them” less and himself more.
